The Valley of the Temples is not a valley but a ridge, and its Doric temples have been standing for twenty-five centuries. The temple of Concordia is among the best preserved in the world. It is best visited early in the morning or in the evening, when the stone changes colour.
Around it, the Scala dei Turchi, the Kolymbethra garden and a coast still largely unbuilt. This is the stop that holds a programme together between Palermo and the south-east.
